Works with cast iron and aluminum cylinder heads. These cylinder heads relied on the British style rubber O-rings affixed at the top of the retainers to control oil from running down the guide. Too bad the spring is open all around its circumference, resulting in early cars being oil consumers with nasty build up on the back side of the valves. In the old days we used to machine the inner valve spring step on cylinder head to install the later # 1692 671/2 - 70 umbrella type seal. Our seal fits over the guide on early cars snugly and provides the sealing like the late cars without having to remove the head to machine the raised inner valve spring step. These seals are included in all our early head sets and early full gasket sets for both models. Our seals come with a detailed instruction sheet for installing the seals while the head is on the car. Partnumber: 2208 Datsun Roadster Smog Plug Inserts - Set of 4 AFTER MARKET USA Datsun Roadster, set of four, smog plug inserts for 68 -70 1600 and 2000 cylinder heads. These inserts were reverse engineered to screw into the ports in the head where the air injectors were installed as smog equipment. They have the exact thread and contour of the injectors and fill the entire cavity; both the threaded portion and the smooth bore. This completely eliminates that annoying �chirping� sound caused by engine exhaust passing over the tube, which creates a resonant chamber (like a badly played flute).GENERIC ALLEN HEAD SHORT PLUGS WITH NO EXTENSION WILL NOT SOLVE THE CHIRPING ISSUE. SHORT PLUGS ARE $1.00 EACH AT YOUR LOCAL PLUMBING SUPPLY Once installed, you�ll be amazed at hearing only the smooth hum of the exhaust out the tailpipe.
